Just like your jeans, you choose your coat size based on your back length and chest width. Choose your coat size from our chart based on your dachshund's back length. Your dachshund's chest circumference determines the chest band size.

Using these two measurements, you can put together your dog sweater individually for your dachshund.

For example, if your dachshund is particularly slim, simply choose a smaller chest band size. If your dachshund is larger and stronger, simply choose a chest band size one size larger.

Practical, easy to separate and wash

After a long walk with your dachshund through mud or dust, the chest strap made of water-repellent material can simply be wiped with a damp cloth - or you can detach the chest strap and put it in the washing machine on a gentle cycle at 30°C.

Our chest straps can be easily removed using a Velcro fastener and replaced with a different colored chest strap at any time. This allows you to customize the color of your dog's sweater at any time.

Ideal for dish carriers

By the way, your dachshund can also wear a harness under the LUDWIG sweater. The long two-way zipper on the back of the sweater makes it easy to thread the leash through the sweater and secure it in place with the two zippers.

When choosing the size of the chest strap, make sure that the circumference of the harness is taken into account.

Your dachshund’s safety is taken into account

A big plus for your dachshund's safety: Each chest strap is provided with a reflective strip all the way around, so that your dachshund can be seen clearly in traffic even in poor light conditions.

LUDWIG is washable at 30 degrees

The LUDWIG dog sweater can, of course, also be washed. To keep it looking new for a long time, we recommend using liquid detergent and washing it on a gentle cycle at 30°C with a maximum spin speed of 800 rpm. Do not tumble dry LUDWIG; simply hang it on a line.

To ensure your coat fits, we recommend measuring your dog before ordering.

1. Your dog must stand upright and straight during the measurement , with the head in an upright position as shown in the illustration.
2. Back length (green line): Please measure with a flexible tape measure the length between the bottom edge of a loose-fitting collar along the back line to the base of the tail.
3. Chest circumference (orange line) To determine the chest circumference, please measure the circumference of your dog’s chest with a measuring tape at the widest or highest point . If your dog regularly wears a harness under their coat or has a lot of fur, please take this additional circumference into account.
4. Neck circumference (purple line) To determine the correct neck circumference, place a tape measure around your dog's neck and measure the circumference where your dog normally wears the collar. Allow two fingers of space between the tape measure and the neck.

Exchange

Returns for exchanges are free of charge for all orders from Germany. If you would like to exchange your order, please register your exchange on our returns portal and return your goods to us within 7 days of registration.

Return costs from outside the EU or North America are to be paid by the customer.

To register on our returns portal, you'll need your email address and the order number, which you can find on your invoice or order confirmation. The order number begins with "TE."

The prerequisite for an exchange is an unused, original packaged and flawless product.

If your returned item shows signs of wear, we will unfortunately have to decline the exchange. In this case, we will return your item to you.

If you would like to return your order to us, please register your return as a return on our returns portal .

To register on our returns portal, you'll need your email address and the order number, which you can find on your invoice or order confirmation. The order number begins with "TE."

For returns from Germany, we are happy to provide you with a DHL shipping label. We charge a flat rate of €4.50 for the DHL shipping label, which we will deduct from your credit note. Of course, you can also return your return to us at your own expense if you do not wish to receive a DHL shipping label from us.

Return costs from outside the EU or North America are generally to be paid by the customer.

The prerequisite for a return is that the goods are unused, in their original packaging and in perfect condition.
