Many dog owners ask themselves: How do I get my dog's coat clean without losing its water-repellent properties?
The answer is: gentle washing. Set the washing machine to 30°C and a maximum of 800 rpm. Close all fasteners beforehand, and don't use fabric softener or detergent containing fabric softener. This will damage the membrane. A mild, delicate detergent is perfectly sufficient.
Why waterproofing is important
Over time, every coat loses some of its water-repellent outer protective layer. Only if the waterproofing is intact does the surface of the coat remain permanently water- and dirt-repellent, while also being breathable. Our membrane-coated raincoats and winter coats, in particular, only achieve their full functionality when the outer layer is intact.
